Lakes, forests, parks, a castle and a wonderful old town characterise the former ducal residence. Carl Maria von Weber was born here, and it was also used as a location for the film “Cabaret”, starring Liza Minnelli. Head to Eutin in the Holstein Switzerland Nature Park – whether it’s to visit the Eutin Festival, or to go cycling or canoeing!
Regular concerts take place in the castle park and in the orangery over the summer. The best-known concert series are the Eutin Festivals, Weekend Jazz, and Blues Baltica. A stroll through the quaint old town is also recommended, because its historic core has been completely preserved. Small, elegant shops invite you to browse round. Located directly on the market place, the Brauhaus Eutin brewery is definitely worth a visit during your tour. Or visit the Ostholstein Museum, which focusses on the art and cultural history of the Ostholstein region.
