Holstein Therme Bad Schwartau
Bad Schwartau, which is not far from the historic Hanseatic city of Lübeck in the Baltic coast region, is not only known for its jams, but also for its long-standing bathing traditions. Thermal brine springs containing iodine were first used in as early as 1895. These still provide natural healing water to the Holstein Therme spa, Bad Schwartau – Schleswig-Holstein’s only thermal bath containing iodine, located at the heart of the town’s spa gardens – from a depth of 348 metres. As well as pure relaxation, iodine brine was Anton Baumann’s source for various medicinal applications, such as treatments for rheumatic diseases, vegetative disorders, or skin problems. Due to its ground-level location, the interior of the Holstein Therme spa is also suitable for handicapped visitors. Children over the age of four welcome with adult supervision.
